Have you ever …

Dashed into the shops to grab one or two things, ended up leaving with two bags of groceries that cost you nearly $170, got home to unpack the groceries and realised you didn't get the things that you went out for?

Yeah, me too.

And it used to make me so mad!

But then I would “reframe”,

be positive & tell myself “1st world problem”

“I'll be more organised next time”

“I'll do a shopping list next week”

Next week came & went, and of course, so did the “million” processes I put in place to stop it.- Please tell me I'm not the only one.

It used to pi$$ me off cause I knew it's a 1st world problem … and underneath the fake positivity was a knowing that something so simple was costing me time, energy, creativity.

I'd be run ragged trying to make it all work cause i never carved out time to do the simple things well, so I could build on them.

Finally, one standing in the kitchen at 8 am between making lunches, client calls, kids, cats, and breakfast. I realised the supermarket dash the day before I had forgotten the kids' lunch food. (the very reason I went in the 1st place)

So, as well as everything else I try to squeeze into the morning rush, I also had to drive to the shops…. Again. So my kids had food for lunch.

NEVER AGAIN.

That day before, I do any workI changed the patternI set up online groceries,I put it in my calendar,I trained my kids (bribed) that it was now their jobIt's gone from finding a park, overstimulating grocery shop, unpack, repack, unpack, carry all the bags in, realise I forgot half the stuff, have a fight with myself.

2-3 hour commitment to not have the job done well TO LESS THAN 30 MINUTES

With a better outcome.

I'm eating better, teaching kids about budgeting

Showing them responsibility & to take ownership over the organisation

Something simple that every single household experiences, and most very capable entrepreneurs are too busy trying to master their nurturing sequence or Facebook ads, instead of finishing proposals, instead of rearranging the foundational things first, so you can build your success on a solid foundation.

If you are nodding and giggling while reading this email cause you are a capable, kick ass business owner running teams, events, launches like a legend ….. But still rock up to do the grocery shopping willy nilly to get home and forgot the thing you went for….
